It is that time of year when thousands of first year university students across the country are busy moving into their halls of residence. Thanks to the hard work of our team of decorators and many other local tradespeople, students attending the Norwich University of Arts this year will be able to enjoy the welcoming surroundings of a new hall of residence in the heart of the city.
The All Saints Green halls, located next to the bus station on the corner of Queens Road and Bull Lane, was opened by the Lord Major last week and students began to move in on Saturday.
Speaking at the opening of the new building on Friday, Gavin Nappier of Morgan Sindall said:
“We’re very pleased to have successfully delivered the All Saints Green project for Alumo Developments. This was a high profile scheme which challenged us due to its tight urban location in the city centre, but our team and our great network of local subcontractors and suppliers managed the situation with real proficiency and we’re pleased to be handing over this exciting project on time and on budget.”

The new accommodation includes:
- Ensuite bedrooms for 200 students
- An eighth floor common room, with views across the city
We were called in to assist with the work when it became clear there was a danger of the project falling behind and the deadline being missed. With a combination of decorators, plasterers and carpenters, we had approximately 20 operatives on site at any one time and by working around the clock we were able to help get the job completed on time.

The work we put in on this project did not go unnoticed and we were delighted to receive the following comments from Project Manager Stephen Randall:
“Whilst writing I wish to applaud BMA’s efforts over the past few weeks as you have given the whole project some much needed quality, drive, enthusiasm and dedication that was sadly missing from some of our finishing trades on-site, these efforts have been noted by us all on site which is a testament to your company and your guys working for you.”
